This sculpture is part of the 'Sisters Toil' series of woven works that explores "women's work" such as weaving, sewing, stitching and mending and other such practices which are belittled and considered pastimes or hobbies yet are essential practices in the art world and outside of it.
These works are ode’s to the other craft-driven makers who have shattered conventions and redefined norms for women artists. These works similarly comment on labor practices within the Global South and the gender divide which still remains prevalent today.
